Dud's Tip #721

A paperknife is the ideal tool to remove staples, (you can use your fingers to open letters). Sharpen the end as you would a chisel to get under the staple bar easily. Push the knife in and twist it, just like Brutus. If you are using long staples you may need a pair of long nose pliers to 'roll' out the second leg. I use 2mm liteply, cut into strips about 1/2" wide, to staple through. This spreads the pressure and won't leave a staple bar mark on the work piece. (Yes, I know. There are a couple of staples showing in the photo that are straight into the job, but the ruddy ply wouldn't sit down at the front).
