Patrick Rogers' Flitzer Z-21A

(former Jeff Beach ship)

March 28, 2005

Hello all,

Here are my Easter pix a day late. This is about 6 weeks work (I'm one of those overworked types) The tailplane still needs to be shaped, and I'm still deciding on a tool for that job. I couldn't find the Black and Decker wand that you spoke of, Lynn. I like the Permagrit tools that Gary suggested earlier. Also note that I've left out the center nose ribs as this is the Z-21A and I don't have those fuse measurements. Also, that is my version of the high tech wing rib jig for the Flitzer, made according to the link on the Flitzer site. It is a work in progress, I'm not sure if I'm satisfied with it. Hey Rupert, how about another video, my girlfriend is getting sick of me playing that one (at full volume of course) over, and over, and over.

Regards,

Jeff in Maine

Hello all,

Just another periodic reminder that I still have a Flitzer wood kit (from Gary Steadman) for sale. The wood is in perfect condition and I've only built the horizontal stab and a couple ribs. I'm willing to drop the price to $1,700 US, which also includes 4 or 5 4x4 sheets of 1mm plywood. I'm in Maine, USA if interested. Email me off the Group at jbfive71@yahoo.com

Thanks,

Jeff Beach

Hello group,

I still have a Gary Steadman Z-21 wood kit for sale. I'll lower the price again to $1,600 USD, which is a steal for this complete kit. Email me directly, off the group, at jbfive71@yahoo.com if interested.

Thanks everyone,

Jeff

The former Jeff Beach project has been sitting idle in my garage in Sacramento, California for the last year or so. It consists of a partially built horizontal stab, two elevator laminations, and the balance of the wood kit. I also obtained one of Chris’ steel tube kits. Construction should begin within a few months (hurray; at last!) It will be a square-tail Z-21, probably powered by an 1835cc Great Plains though I’m toying with the idea of installing a converted Spagthorpe "Wolfhound" motorcycle engine.
