November 30, 2005 - Aussi Z-3 Progress

G'Day Lynn

Attached is my progress on the Z3 STB fuselage frame. Please review my interpretation of the joints. I have not glued the frame up yet. I would like to hear any criticisms you may have. If you need further images, just holler.

One area I did not quite get after physically making the components was the forward lower upper doubler. You say it butts against rear plywood face of firewall. You will notice I have butted up against the vertical behind STA-0 instead. Please comment on this area.

It has been raining quite a bit in the last couple of weeks so progress has been a little on again, off again. Keeping an eye on the wet/dry bulb so as to cut timber at the same humidity level for fit reasons etc.

Finally, I was contacted by Adam Wankowski from the UK as he was interested. I will forward any progress pix to him only after you have approved of the progress (so no mistakes or misinterpretations can be compounded by others).

Any way, Cheers for now.

Wayne.

May 28, 2006 - Z-3 Progress

Group,

Here are two recent pictures of Wayne Pearce's Z-3 progressing in Australia, one of about seven or eight projected Z-3s so far, with another one in France at about the same stage of completion as this one.

Although the pictures are not of good definition, the high quality of build can be judged and the sense of robustness of this tough single-seater is obvious, to me at least, my having a keen appreciation of the smaller, original Z-1 and Z-21s.
