Here are three photographs of the exceptionally beautiful Stummelflitzer Type S wings made by Sascha Heuser. Note the modified 'box' weldment aileron hinges and the additional plywood extending from the 'D' boxes on the upper wing surfaces to improve the airfoil here. Small additional triangular riblets may be seen which support this as well as edge-stiffening to the ply. There is also additional ply at the tips and in other areas. It will seem a shame to cover them.

Note the interesting 'vintage' fuselage in the background.

Here are three pictures of Wilfried Wesemann's Stummelfitzer Z-1S. Power is likely to be by Goebler-Hirth.

Note the foot step on this Z-1S. This is a feature of the Z-2, Goblin , Z-1R etc, but a first on a Z-1S.

Attached herewith is a side view of the proposed GoeblerHirth motor in a Z-1S. I have made a few changes to the elevation provided by Wilfried to create a more harmonious shape and near-bullet cowl, or as far as is possible wth the light engine. Here is the first attempt.

Here's a provisional illustration for the Goebler-Hirth + PSRU installation with the adapted bullet nose. I think this is quite practical with the batteries located well forward. Air-extraction louvres are used to improve overall cooling an under-cowl temperatures.

March 1, 2009 - Stummelflitzer fuel tank

Here is a completely new fibreglass fuel tank designed by Wilfried Wesemann for his Stummelflitzer Z-1S in Germany. The tank is in two compartments: the upper section being 66 litres and the 'sump' being 69 litres capacity.

Wilfried's Z-1S is another exceptionally well built aeroplane.

Herewith the last of the recent pictures of Wilfried's Z-1S.

Note the clear inspection panels in the seat back revealing the rod-operated elevator controls which are unique to Wilfried's aeroplane.
